Tania paints because she enjoys it. Many years of painting has been a meaningful encounter with a range of subjects. Her sketch book, with ideas gathered from both memory and observation, can lead the way as well as starting a journey with an open mind and a blank canvas which has led to surprise discoveries of energetic expression. She likes to keep an instinctive approach combined with spontaneity and a dash of analysis along the way; making corrections until the image has cohesion, balance and colour harmony. Choice of materials have been made to fit both the surface and the subject. These range from oils, acrylic, watercolour, and pen & wash. Each of their virtues have been cherished and explored.
Tania expresses depth and clarity, has real involvement in her work, and enjoys the challenge of sharing her visual world on a 2D surface. She believes that the energetic connection between the artist and the work can be inspirational for the viewer. She hopes that you will gain as much enjoyment from the paintings as she did in creating them. Tania has exhibited in various venues and with the ‘Marlborough Artists’
